VERNA MAE LIESKE

Verna Mae Lieske passed away on Sunday, February 17th, 2013 at her home in Huntersville at the age of 76 with her family by her side. Verna was born on April 18, 1936 in Raymond, MN. The daughter of Elizabeth (Miller) and Clarence Ruchti. In 1955, she was united in marriage to Robert Lieske. This union was blessed with three children.

Verna will be remembered for her love and devotion to her husband Bob, her best friend. Also for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a teacher loved by all whose lives she touched. She loved anything dealing with the outdoors. Other hobbies were painting and crafts and the cookbook that she and Bob made.

Verna is survived by her husband, Robert of Huntersville; Children, Bill (significant other, Martha) of Brazoria, TX; Sharon (Cary) Dufault of Red Lake Falls, MN; and Karen Lieske; Grandchildren, Bobby and Billy Lieske, Clayton (Jillian) Padgett and Will; Jessica (Matt) Hulne, Tiffany (Eric) Biermaier, Lindsey and Rusty Roy, and Lisa Lieske; Great Grandchildren, Abigail and Austin Padgett; Jordan and Laura Hulne and Jacob Biermaier. Also surviving are her siblings; Ronald (Suzanne) Ruchti of Willmar; Donald (Lori) Ruchti of Maple Lake; Marilyn (Al) Nordin of Atwater; Marv (Kris) Ruchti of Detroit Lakes; along with several nieces and nephews. Verna was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka, MN, with visitation two hours prior to the service. Pastor Steven A. Bruer will officiate. Special music will be provided by Kim Maland who will sing “Daisy A Day.” Active Casketbearers will be Rusty Roy, Allen Nordin, Butch Ruchti, Jason Ruchti, Jesse Ruchti and Kenny Gehrt.

Interment will be at Huntersville Cemetery.
