Alice Johanna Heikkila

Alice Johanna Heikkila age 80 of Menahga, Minnesota died Monday, December 28, 2009 in Tri County Hospital after a very short illness. Alice Johanna was born to Erick and Matilda (Kariniemi) Rautio July 19, 1929 in Kettle River, Minnesota. After graduating from high school, she went to Sebeka, MN to work and met her husband, Archie Heikkila. They resided in Sebeka for many years before moving to Cloquet, Minnesota. Alice worked part time in Cloquet as well as being a home maker. After Archie retired, they moved back to Sebeka, Minnesota in the late 70's. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Heikkila, Lacey, Washington, grandson, Jordan Heikkila, Lacey, Washington, brother Mike (Oscar) Rautio, Silverton, Oregon, sister Ailie (Rautio) Calverley, Cloquet, MN, brother Melvin Rautio and his wife Sharon New York Mills, MN, brother in law Art Heikkila, Wadena, MN, sister in law B-Ann Rautio Audubon, MN, sister in law Mary Rautio, Illinois, sister in law Viola Ollila, Menahga, MN, sister in law Gertrude Siironen, Duluth, MN and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Alice was preceded in death by her husband Archie, sons John and James, daughter Alice brothers Ernest Rautio and Henry Rautio sister Sylvia Heikkila and sister in law Anita Rautio. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at First English Lutheran Church in Menahga, MN with visitation two hours prior to the service at the Church. Pastor Steven A. Bruer will officiate. Congregational hymns will be “Rock of Ages” and “Safe in the Arms of Jesus.” Active Casketbearers will be family and friends. Interment will be at Red Eye Cemetery, Red Eye Township, Wadena County, MN. Arrangements were entrusted to Wevley Funeral Home Sebeka, MN.
