Ellen Mae Esther Palokangas

Ellen Mae Esther Palokangas, born November 11, 1940, died at age 81 at Greenwood Connections Nursing Home on May 23, 2022 with her husband and family at her side and with a smile on her face. Ellen is survived by her husband of 32 years James (“Jim”) Palokangas, her daughters Gail Reynolds and Sheila Reynolds, stepsons John (Denise) Palokangas, Chuck (Brenda) Palokangas, Tom (Karina) Palokangas and stepdaughter Laura Aherns. She has 16 grandchildren – Tera (Korey) Fritz, Whitney (Michael ) Stine, Crista Weisbrod, Brandon (Allie) Troy, Cody (Chelsea) Troy, Julia (Daniel) Palokangas, Camille (Derek) Beauduy, Dana (Eli) Cook, Libby Palokangas, Claire (Brent) Isaacs, Ty, Will & Mac Palokangas, Jessie, Jacob & Jordan Aherns. She also had 17 great grandchildren. Ellen is also survived by her siblings Leroy Hepola, June (Leroy) Lake, Ruben (Beverly) Hepola, brothers-in-law Jack Palokangas, David (Vicki) Palokangas and sister-in-law Eloise (Paul) Hepokoski, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a host of brothers and sisters in faith. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents John & Esther Hepola, the father of her daughters/first husband Lloyd Arnold Reynolds, her siblings Helen Matson, Russell Hepola , Dilbert Hepola, Delores Schindeldecker, sisters-in-law Sharon Burgau, Mary Ellen Adams and Sharon Palokangas. The funeral will be at the Menahga Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church on Friday May 27, 2022 at 11am. Visitation will be 1 hour before the funeral service at the church. Burial will follow immediately afterwards.
