Harvey Douglas Warren, age 93, of Sebeka, MN died Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Minnesota Veterans Home Fergus Falls, MN. Harvey was born to Frank and Addy May (Walker) Warren on December 22, 1925 in Akeley, MN. At the age of two years his family moved to Cloquet, MN. He attended school through eighth grade in the Cloquet Public School. He worked at the Luutinen and Maki dairy farms with the bottling and home deliveries. Later he worked in the butcher department of the Cloquet Coop Store. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Navy on February 3, 1943 and received his basic training at Farragut, Idaho. During his enlistment he served on the USS San Francisco in the Pacific Theater of WWII. He was honorably discharged on June 29, 1946. After the war, Harvey served as an apprentice for Jim Terrell and did service work in refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating. Harvey and Marie Provensal were married on September 7, 1946. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Steven and Jeffery. The family moved to California and built their first house in Valley Center. Harvey continued in Air Conditioning work and Marie found employment in business booking. Other areas where they lived included Branson, MO, Hagerman, ID, and Glenns Ferry ID. They enjoyed camping, fishing and snow birding in retirement. They were anticipating the celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary when Marie passed away at 82 years of age following heart surgery. Some of Harvey’s special interests included raising Brittany Spaniel dogs and training them in field trials with his sons, operating a small Herford ranch in Idaho and riding in motorcycle demonstrations as a Mason in California parades. He was united in marriage to Betty (Maunumaki) Lake on September 7, 2007 at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Menahga, MN. They resided in Sebeka, MN until he entered the Minnesota Veterans Home on February 21, 2018. Harvey is survived by his wife Betty, son Jeffrey (Debi) four grandchildren three great-grandchildren, two brothers, Harry (Gail) and Frank (Elsie), Nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Marie, son Steven, sisters, Margaret, Ruth, Phyllis, Harriet, Donna, Kathleen, Patsy and Dorothy Ann, brothers, William, Jerry Lloyd and Dennis. Memorial Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at 3:00 PM at the Menahga City Cemetery following the luncheon at the Senior Citizens Center in Sebeka, MN.
