Lempi Emelia Hasti Roiko of Menahga MN was born on March 19, 1923 to John Edward and Anna (Soderback) Hasti. She died on Sunday May 17, 2020. She was raised on a farm in Kingston, MN. She graduated from Dassel High School in 1940. She attended Nurses training at Abbot Hospital. She served as a nurse in the United States Army during World War II and continued to work as a nurse when her children were grown. Lempi was married to August Arnold Roiko on November 29, 1947. They raised their family in Plymouth MN. Lempi is survived by Joyce and Gary Bimberg of Menahga MN; Russell and Sinikka (Pietala) of Lantana FL; Ruth (Josephson) Roiko of Rogers, MN; Ruth and Loren Laulainen of Longview WA; Douglas and Annette (Johnson) Roiko of Wasilla, AK; Patricia and Donald Isaacson of Sebeka, MN; Laura and Glen Kero of Rogers, MN; Beverly and Dale Salmen of Williston, ND; Constance and Mark Helppi of Plymouth, MN; Elizabeth and Robert Keranen of Menahga MN and sister-in-law Donna Roiko of Wadena, MN, 66 grandchildren and 149 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband August; son Ralph, grandson Matthew Helppi, granddaughter Claire Eckel and great granddaughter Eden Laulainen.
