Sherry Minor

December 8, 1956 — May 12, 2026

Menahga

Sherry Mildred Minor, age 69, of Menahga, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, at Astera Health in Wadena, Minnesota. Outgoing, fun-loving, and fiercely dedicated to her family and friends, Sherry left an indelible mark on everyone she met and will be deeply missed by all.

Sherry was born on December 8, 1956, in Duluth, Minnesota, to the late Flora and Arnold Wiita. She grew up with a vibrant spirit that eventually led her to Minneapolis, where she drove a taxi. It was during one of her shifts that fate stepped in: she met a Honeywell employee named Winston Minor. The spark was instant, and the couple was later united in marriage in Wadena on August 4, 1983. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family.

Before moving to Menahga, Sherry had a famous daily routine. If she was missing, everyone knew exactly where to look: the local White Castle. She loved, loved, loved White Castle, and could routinely be found there, happily enjoying a donut and a hot cup of coffee.

After moving to Menahga, Sherry brought her social energy to the heart of the town. She became a beloved fixture at the local bakery and the Menahga Senior Center. Sherry mastered the art of simple pleasures—she loved hanging out with her friends at the bakery, playing BINGO at the senior center, volunteering and attending Hamburger Night at the VFW, and enjoying a good laugh and some lighthearted gossip with "the ladies," always with a cup of coffee in hand. When she was relaxing at home, she loved nothing more than a good plate of spaghetti, watching her favorite court TV shows, and cuddling with her beloved cat, Paint. Sherry also cherished her time outdoors, especially taking trips to the lake and going on long, peaceful drives with her son, Joseph.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Winston; her children, Joseph Minor and Amanda (Darryl) Jackson; grandchildren, Persephone, Buddy, Joseph, Akira, and Siaraa; sisters, Shelly, Shirley, and Sandy; and loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Flora and Arnold Wiita; and her two sisters, Susan and Sara.

"An outgoing soul, a wonderful mother, a proud grandmother, and a friend to everyone she met—Sherry's laughter and warmth will forever echo in the places she loved most."
