Shirley Barbara Steinke

Shirley Barbara (Holst) Steinke, age 87, of Sebeka, MN, formerly of North Germany Township, MN, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Astera Health in Wadena, MN.

Shirley Holst was born on March 4, 1938, in Brainerd, MN, the daughter of the late Ervin and Doris (Lemire) Holst. She was raised in Brainerd and graduated from Brainerd High School. On June 4, 1971, she was married to Eugene Steinke and they made their home in North Germany Township until retirement when they moved to Sebeka. She was a devout and active member of St. Hubert’s Catholic Church in Bluegrass, MN. On her free time, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles every day.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, William; and sister, Colleen.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2pm on Friday, May 23, 2025, at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church in Bluegrass, MN, with a time for visitation one hour before. Interment will then take place at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Sebeka, MN, immediately following the mass.
